Fanni Ijäs is a Finnish dancer, choreographer and dance teacher based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her practise is rooted in house dance and club culture and explores how these traditions function as a starting point for creating work for different contexts. Through dance, her work traces processes of becoming — unfolding in different temporalities and across a multitude of realities.
Her work in the dance field consists of working in performative contexts, teaching dance and dance didactics, and organizing as well as practicing house dance culture. Ijäs is currently studying a MFA in Performative Practices at the Stockholm University of Arts (Stockholm) and has a BA in Dance Pedagogy from the same university. She is also the founding member of house dance collective De La Vibe.
